Psalm 46:1-11 NKJV
Psalm 62:8 NKJV
Psalm 91:1-16 NKJV
From the Beginning
God, after all is said and done, YOU are my refuge in the storm.
When I wake in the morning, You are there.
After the day is done, I see how you protected me and guided me. Everything that touched me was ultimately used for good. Yes, there was pain but none of it went to waste.
I turn to You.
You turn my nights into remembrances of You.
Psalm 46:1-3, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, even though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though its waters roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah”
You are our refuge. You ARE strength. You are ever close at hand and You do not fail.
Everything flows by the work of Your hand.
When the storms come, You are our refuge.
You ARE with us.
You guide and guard YOUR children during the storm.
Psalm 46:4-7, “There is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacle of the Most High. God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved; God shall help her, just at the break of dawn. The nations raged, the kingdoms were moved; He uttered His voice, the earth melted. The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah”
By the work of Your hand You promise a flowing stream that leads to You in the city of God (Revelation 3:12 and Revelation 22:1).
You are our refuge in the midst of the storm.
Even while the nations are in turmoil when You speak the raging melts away.
You KNOW the nations. Yet, You know my name. You know every name and You count the number of hairs on our head (Luke 12:7).
Psalm 46:8-11, “Come, behold the works of the Lord, who has made desolations in the earth. He makes wars cease to the end of the earth; He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two; He burns the chariot in the fire. Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah”
Behold, it is the Lord who made uninhabitable places.
You make wars cease. You O God make the instruments of war unusable.
When we are faced with Your power and might and Your compassion and love, we cannot speak.
We are still.
We KNOW You are God.
Your name is exalted; You are with us and for us.
YOU are our refuge!
Psalm 62:8, “Trust in Him at all times, you people; pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah”
We trust in You.
We CAN trust you enough to pour out our sorrows on You.
Our God IS our refuge.
Psalm 91:1-16:
“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence. He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day, nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you. Only with your eyes shall you look, and see the reward of the wicked. Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling place, no evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; for He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone. You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, the young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot. “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him, and show him My salvation.”
Dwell in the secret place where God resides. God will cover you and keep you from evil. There, God will give His angels charge over you.
